Jerusalem Season of Culture
The Break of Dawn
Don’t be fooled into thinking that winter in Jerusalem condemns culture to a period of forced hibernation. Heaven forbid, the city is actually more culturally alive now than ever. Just as Hamshushalayim and the Design Festival warmed up your December, on offer now is a series of events that will brighten up every Monday night in February.
“Winter Time” will combine exhibitions, street art, performances, lectures and many other surprises in four areas of the city's center. You can look forward to things like, an evening that is all performance, graffiti artists and a baroque inspired fashion exhibit in Jaffa Square on February 20th. Then, a week later, another evening that is dedicated to VJ’s (yes, that's right, like a DJ but with video), and we haven't even mentioned the parties and happenings that will accompany this event.
And finally, a few words for the artists among you: the event's curators and organizers are still open to suggestions for performances, art or people you think should be included. If you feel like pouring or projecting color onto the city's streets, taking an active part in the exhibitions or participating in any of the cultural options the city will be opening up to the public over the next few weeks, feel free to contact the organizers at these addresses: yanivew@gmail.com, shlomitmit@gmail.com.
